Adaptive Techology
I found this assignment interesting. I didn't know there were so many different things you can change on your computer for someone with a disability. I know my mom's vision isn't all that good and she loves to play games on her computer. Sometimes it hurts her eyes and gives her a headache when she is on it too much. Now I know a way to help her out some by looking through the accessibility features on my computer. I think technology is great and that everyone should be able to use it.

Power Point Presentation
I really enjoyed this assignment. I chose to do it on a book called Five Little Monkeys Reading in the Bed. Two little girls I watch really like this book and I thought it would be fun to create a presentation out of it. I found some really cute clip art pictures for it and I liked the way it turned out. I have created power point presentations before but it has been a couple years but I still found this assignment pretty easy. I really enjoyed creating it.

Web Page Designing
I chose to do a web page on free webs. I found a template that I liked and it didn't seem to be all that difficult to create a website. The only problem I had was figuring out what to put on it. I wasn't quite sure what to put on the page or how I wanted everything. I have a myspace page and it wasn't tough at all to create. I get on it all the time to add or change things. Creating a web site from scratch is new to me. I just tried to look at it and use the same information to create my site. It turned out okay. I just hope I did it right.

Coarse & Mid Term Thoughts
I have really enjoyed this class so far. There has been so many things that I have learned how to do on my computer that I didn't know how to do before. Some programs I have had some experience with and this class has refreshed my memory on them. I never would have imagined that there were so many different things you could create using the Microsoft Word program. I always used it to type up research papers. Knowing how to make fliers, brochures, and invitations will be very beneficial to me in the future. Especially when I get back into working with children.
When I first looked at the midterm, I was kind of overwhelmed. I thought it would take a while to complete, but once I got started, I realized that it was pretty simple. The directions were easy to follow and I realized it was not as bad as I had first expected.

EDU 271
This class has been great so far. I have really enjoyed the assignments and have learned a lot. I have had a few computer problems but I have been able to work through it and make the best out of everything. The instructor has been wonderful and has been a big help to me when my computer was acting up.
The assignment I have been working on this week has been fun. I have never used templates before and I never imagined there were so many different types of templates to choose from. I chose to do invitations to give out to the parents, fliers as a reminder, and had intended to do a door hanger, but it wouldn't work out the way I had wanted to so I chose a poster instead. The colors I chose were blue, green, and purple. The event I had planned was an Easter party. There will be food, games, and prizes. Also there will be someone dressed up as the Easter Bunny and the children can get their picture taken with it. It wouldn't be an Easter party without an Easter egg hunt.

I thought by having this party, it would be a great way for the children and their parents to socialize with each other and get to know one another better.

My Experience Working With Children
My passion for working with children started when my nephew was born and he is now eleven years old. My sister was 15 when she had him and wasn't ready to be a mother and had a wild side to her. She did work first shift though and our mom worked third so I would help them out whenever he wasn't in daycare. We have been so close and I love him to death. Once I got old enough, I started to babysit for my friend's younger siblings for their parents and for other people I knew. When I turned 17, I was able to get my first job as floater at Randleman Church of God daycare through the Building Futures Youth Program. I was able to work five hundred hours and it was such a wonderful experience. I worked in all of the classrooms and did some things for my supervisor. I spent most of my time in the three and four year old room. They were such great children and I had a lot of fun working with them. I had spent a lot of time also with the school age children. I went on a lot of field trips with them and helped out in the classroom. I'm not really sure which age group I enjoy the most but I do know I prefer the younger children the most. I have gone back and I have visited the daycare several times since my time ended and its amazing at how much they have grown and changed since I worked there. Some of them still remember me and when they see me, they are so happy and ask me to stay. I miss all of them so much. When my time ended, I was able to get another floater position at Head Start through the same program. It was great. Just like at the other daycare, I was only able to work 500 hours. I spent most of my time in the same classroom because the assistant teacher was having some health issues and they needed me the most in there. It was the older fours and five year old class. There was so many wonderful children there. Some of the children had disabilities and they were a pleasure to work with. One little boy had spinal bifidia and had to use a walker to get around and plus he couldn't speak English very well. One day outside he was trying to play with a soccer ball. So I went over there and kicked the ball back and forth with him and he enjoyed it. He just smiled and laughed and had so much fun. It warmed my heart to see him so happy. There was also a few children there who were Autistic. I worked with one little girl a lot. She could be a hand full at times but she was so smart and so sweet. I enjoyed working with her a lot.
After my time ended, I still went back and helped out. I volunteered several times on field trips and also just because they had called and needed some help because someone was sick and couldn't get a sub.
